What is so important about Advance Directives?

Advance directives such as living wills or health care power of attorney forms specify how individuals want medical decisions to be made for them through assigned Agents, should they become unable to communicate their wishes. My Care Voice wants members to have a voice when unplanned or emergency health crises arise.
